This help article applies to users on Fresh Projects Version 2.
Which version of Fresh Projects am I using?

00:00: Fresh Projects let's you consider and compare the finances of projects across all

00:04: clients to assist in determining which clients are driving your business forward,

00:08: and which ones are holding you back.

00:11: Lets take a look.

00:14: Click on Insight in the Main Menu.

00:18: Click "Client Profitability" to view profitability metrics for your clients.

00:24: Then set any necessary Filters at the top of the screen.

00:30: Further down on the screen,

00:31: doughnut charts will reflect the financial situation of the relevant projects linked to

00:36: a specific client.

00:39: Focusing on a single doughnut chart, it first and foremost, comprises of the Fee in

00:44: the left hemisphere,

00:45: and the Cost in the right hemisphere.

00:48: The Fee is indicated by the grey segment and represents the total agreed upon fee

00:52: with the client.

00:56: The value of the black segment is reflected by the Invoiced amount.

01:00: As you begin invoicing on projects,

01:02: a new black segment will appear,

01:04: beginning at 12 o'clock and moving in a counter-clockwise direction over the grey segment.

01:11: Ideally,

01:12: once all projects for this client are complete,

01:15: the grey segment should be totally covered by the black segment,

01:18: indicating that the client has been invoiced for 100% of the fee.

01:25: The Cost in the right hemisphere is indicated by the light blue and navy blue

01:29: segment and represents the total internal budget set for all projects linked to this

01:33: client.

01:35: As time and expenses are captured to these projects and then approved,

01:38: the navy blue segment will appear,

01:40: beginning at 12 o'clock and moving in a clockwise direction.

01:46: Ideally, the navy blue segment should always stay within the confines of the light

01:50: blue segment,

01:51: indicating that the true project costs are still within the budgeted amount.

01:56: The value of the navy blue segment is reflected by the Actual Cost amount.

02:02: The segment in the right hemisphere represents the Profit, and is equal to the Fee

02:07: minus the Actual Cost and Cost Remaining.

02:10: If the Actual Cost exceeds the budgeted cost at any point,

02:14: the navy blue segment will eat into the green segment, effectively lessening the

02:18: Profit.

02:21: If the Actual Cost increases to such a degree that it negates the Profit entirely,

02:26: the green segment will be replaced by a red segment in the left hemisphere,

02:30: indicating a Loss.

02:33: The thin green segment in the left hemisphere indicates a Positive Cash Flow and is

02:37: calculated as the difference between the amount Invoiced and Actual Cost.

02:42: If, at any point, the Actual Cost exceeds the amount Invoiced,

02:46: this will be reflected by a thin red segment in the right hemisphere.

02:52: You now know how to successfully read your client profitability data within Fresh

02:56: Projects.
