The naming of the project, its stages and the structuring thereof can be managed by by the Project Manager to ensure that the setup of the project suits the internal as well as external processes. This is best done in the beginning of the project before any costs have been assigned to it.
The Project Structure of the project can be edited as follows:
- Open the project in question and click on the three dots, selecting Project Structure from the drop-down list.
- Once here, you can make any necessary changes to the Project Name and Project Code as well as enter any additional Notes and a Project Description.
- Groups allow you to categorise sub projects into different classes. This feature can be Enabled or Disabled, depending on the project structure required. When enabled, you will be asked to enter the names of the required groups.
- Under the Breakdown, you will be able to make any changes to the names of the groups and sub projects as well as add and new ones.
- Any notes for that sub projects can be added in the text-entry box beneath Description.
- To hide a sub project from employees when capturing their Timesheets or Expenses, click on the padlock icon.
- To make notes mandatory for this sub projects when staff members capture it in their timesheets, click on the page icon.
- To hide a sub project from invoicing, click on the invoice icon:
- To mark a sub project as an External Pass Through Cost, click on the sub consultant icon.
- To delete a stage, click on the bin icon.
- Remember to Save any changes before exiting.
- To save this project structure as a template to use on further projects choose "Save as Template":
